Presidents April Message

Spring is finally here. Domestic goddess love this time of year as every nook and cranny gets refreshed. Spring cleaning is also a good time to evaluate how things look and how our home is functioning. We strip out the old and throw out the broken, the project that never came about and the clutter.

Spring cleaning is also a good thing to do in our shops too! Clean up just like you do at home. Clean the walls, sweep the corners, throw out the ribbon you haven't used for 10 years, trash the old vases or sell them. Don't forget to spring clean the books and magazines. Evaluate your cost of goods, labor costs or other expenses you see as too high and clean them up as needed.

As we clean up our shops and business we'll be more prepared for the holidays that come at us back to back this year. Happy Spring Cleaning

Shop Strolls

The Utah Professional Florist Association's 2011 kick off event this year will be something a little bit different.
This year we will be starting free continuing educational events, "Shop strolls". Once a month there will be a tour hosted by a different shop to help foster a sense community within the floral industry here in Utah. These events will be great opportunities to meet with other florists to discuss the latest trends and discover different ways of looking at how we run our stores.
Tracy Barlow, AIFD. will be hosting our first flower tour at the Window Box in Layton. Come check it out, learn about your neighbors and see what works at the Window Box. If there are any questions please call Tracy at 801 546-932
The tour starts at 6:30. There will be light refreshments. Please RSVP so Tracy will know how many guests to accommodate for, Space is limited. We will see everyone there!
